The Aims of the Festival:
To confront and engage international artistic and educational environments.
To promote vocal personalities, to help improve artistic and technical skills of vocalists.
Terms and Conditions:
The present Terms and Conditions applies to the annual contest for the vocal personality, organized as a part of the "Rzeszów Carpathia Festival". The purpose of the contest is to select the most interesting vocal personality.
The assessment criteria will be determined by the Jury during its meeting, held before the presentation of the first performer. Alongside with the contest for the vocal personality, the contests for the most interesting composition and the greatest stage personality will be carried out.
I. GENERAL PROVISIONS
1. The Festival is open to people over 16 years of age from anywhere in the world – individual performers – soloists, duets, trios and quartets.
2. The participants of the Festival will be accompanied by the festival band, members of which will be announced after completion of the Festival qualification process.
3. The Grand Prix winners of the previous editions of the Festival are not allowed to participate in the Festival.
4. The participants of the Festival shall prepare two original songs.
5. The original song is acknowledged by the Festival Organizers as a piece of music composed by the artist themselves or composed especially for them.
6. The song may be performed in any language; native language is preferable.
II. FORMAL REQUIREMENTS FOR FESTIVAL APPLICATION
This year, the festival application should be submitted electronically, by completing the form available on www.carpathia.rzeszow.pl.
1. The persons and institutions interested in participating in the XVII edition of the International Song Festival “Carpathia Festival”- Rzeszów 2021 are obliged to send the Festival Application Form which shall include the following elements:
a) form available on www.carpathia.rzeszow.pl,
b) musical scores of submitted songs,
c) songs recorded in .WAVE or .MP3 format (audio quality must be good enough so that the song and the artist can be presented on the Festival website),
d) lyrics of submitted songs: lyrics in native language shall be translated into English,
e) two photographs in electronic form and a resume with artistic achievements (in the case of foreigners – in English) for the needs of printed festival publications. Please do not send your resume in .pdf format!
2. The application shall be sent electronically not later than 28 February 2021.

3. The application sent by email shall include all elements mentioned in paragraph II point 1 a) b) c) d) e). The lack of any element mentioned in paragraph II point 1 a) b) c) d) e) or any other formal errors (lack of data, its illegibility) results in excluding the application from the contest.
4. The email application shall be comprised in a single message. In case of technical problems related to large volumes of data, which cannot be sent in a single message, the application shall be sent in several successive emails.
5 Each email received will be confirmed by the Organizers by a return email to the sender.
6. Participants qualified for the XVII International Song Festival “Carpathia Festival” – Rzeszów 2021 are obliged to fill in the documents named in paragraph II of this Terms and Conditions, in paper form, immediately upon receiving the information about the qualification for the Festival, and to send them by post or submit in person to the Festival Office before the rehearsals for Festival auditions.
III. QUALIFICATION PROCESS AND PROCEDURE OF SELECTING THE FESTIVAL WINNERS
1. Submitted compositions will be subject to a two-step assessment procedure.
Stage I – the selection of participants for the final concert of the Festival based on the compositions received (fulfilling all conditions mentioned in paragraph II point 2 and 3 of this Terms and Conditions) made by the Qualification Committee*. The persons qualified for the Festival will receive the confirmation of participation in writing by 10th May 2021.
*The members of the Qualification Committee will be announced until 28th February 2021.
Stage II - rating the compositions and live performances during the final concert of the Festival by the Festival Jury*. The Jury will select the winners and award the following prizes:
The Grand Prix of the Festival – co-financing the promotion of the winner (co-financing the costs of releasing a CD or co-financing the costs of a concert tour) and invitation for performing a concert during the next edition of the Festival – 15,000 PLN.

*The final members of the Festival Jury will be announced by 31st July 2021.
2. The Jury reserves the right to qualify for the contest performers presenting music on the border of sung poetry, in cases where the performer reveals a personality which should be presented and supported.
3. The Organizers reserve the right to limit applications and to invite some artists – the Grand Prix winners of other international festivals.
4. In case of any doubts as to the composition, the Jury shall have the right to accept or reject it.
IV. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE FESTIVAL
1. The participants hereby grant the permission to the Organizers to use the copyright of the submitted recordings, artistic performances and their image for free, for advertising, information and promotional purposes, unlimited in time and territory, in the following fields of exploitation:
a) recording and multiplying with any techniques, including printing, reprography, magnetic recording and digital technique, on such data carriers as floppy disks, CD-ROMs, VCDs, DVDs,
b) placing on the market, lending or renting the original or the copy with the recording; releasing, public performing, projecting, broadcasting and rebroadcasting in the mass media and on the Internet.
2. The participants hereby grant the permission to the Organizers to use the submitted recordings and their image, as well as copyrights and related rights, for advertising, information and promotional purposes, unlimited in time and territory, in the following fields of exploitation:
a) recording and multiplying with any techniques, including printing, reprography, magnetic recording and digital technique,
b) placing on the market, public performing, projecting, broadcasting and rebroadcasting.
3. The transportation and insurance costs shall be borne by the Festival participants.
4. The Organizers provide accommodation, breakfast included (the costs of lunches and dinners shall be borne by the Festival participants).
5. All Festival participants are obliged to take part in the final concert.
V. RADIO AND TELEVISION STATEMENT
The participants qualified for the second stage are obliged to give a written consent granting permission to record their performances in audio and video, during Festival auditions and the final concert. These consents will be sent to the selected participants by email, along with the information of qualifying to the Festival. The signatures will be collected during the rehearsals to the Festival auditions and final concert.
VI. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
1. By participating in the Festival, the contestant and its statutory representatives agree to all terms and conditions contained herein, and give their consent to be photographed and filmed, and to distribute recorded materials, which will remain the property of the Organizer, as well as the consent to process personal data of each contestant for the organizational purposes of the Festival.
2. Recording audio and/or video for non-personal purposes is forbidden. Unauthorized distribution of audio and/or video content as well as processing the personal data and images of Festival contestants may require legal action to be taken.
VII. TERMS AND CONDITIONS MODIFICATIONS
1. The Organizers may at any time, prior to the deadline for submitting applications, modify the contents of this Terms and Conditions. The modified Terms and Conditions will be immediately made public on the Festival website: www.carpathia.rzeszow.pl.
When the modification is made after the completion of the qualification process, the modified Terms and Conditions will be provided to all qualified participants.
2. The Organizers reserve the right to modify the terms set out in this Terms and Conditions.
3. Modifications to the Terms and Conditions and modifications to the terms made by the Organizers shall be binding for all Festival participants.
4. All disputes arising in connection with this Terms and Conditions shall be settled solely by the Festival Organizers.
